FARMERS LAB
Innovation in the case study
The innovative element of Farmers Lab was to design a laboratory for producers’ common use. This included those who were not used to cooperating and dedicating time and energy to a shared goal.
Even though the participation process during the project was a complex interplay amongst different players, the producers realised that it could lead them to their goal and their contribution was a fundamental component in the success of the initiative.
The partnership was willing to listen and negotiate, which built up trust and facilitated productive dialogue over time.
Farmers had the opportunity to interact with actors outside the agricultural world and gather information from them to clarify their understandings about the laboratory/products transformation and move forward with the agreed activities.
