LAND FOR LIFE

Innovation in the case study

The project is about technological (but not technical) processes and environment-led agricultural innovation, aimed at dealing with the disappearance of both the region’s traditional agricultural practices and the region’s traditional bird species, which are considered endangered worldwide.

The case can be understood also as a social type of innovation as the project empowers farmers with knowledge and material assets (land, animals, small agricultural buildings, machinery), helping them to transform their agricultural practices but also to create jobs in a depopulated and economically deprived area.

Cattle Breeding

The innovation is rather incremental as it aims to enhance the existing agricultural practices but also to introduce new ways to practice them and to reinforce agri-environmental approaches.
