Building up networks for better understanding territorial differences in interactive innovation.

Macro-regional workshops allow for intensive communication among participants from regions with similar conditions and provide better opportunities for a cross-fertilisation.

First round of four macro regional workshops of LIAISON identified,  beyond set up the macro-regional hubs, the key challenges and research  needs from these stakeholder groups point of view. 

In the Danube Balkan macro-region participants were mainly interested in the role of research capacities concerning innovation. The main condition of innovation seemed policy target and the need of change context of cooperation.

In the Mediterranean regional discussion participants considered innovation as a key solution to the needs and challenges of rural development.

The stakeholder oriented Atlantic / North Sea regional approach was using good examples to generalize forms of multi-actor involvement in research related innovation projects.
